The football team of JCT Limited is one of the well-known teams in India. Its players are even part of the national squad. The JCT Limited football team has won almost every championship in India like the inaugural National League, Durand Cup, Rovers Cup and Federation Cup among others. JCT Limited has even set up a Football Academy at Phagwara which hopes to produce Indian football stars in the future.
JCT Football Team was formed in the year 1971 by JCT Limited, a leading Textile Mill of India. JCT’s football team is one of the top teams in India and is placed 3rd in the I-League season 2007-08 (concluded in Feb 2008) and was the Runners-up of the National Football League for the season 2006 – 07. Besides this, JCT finished last season as runners-up of Durand Cup Football Tournament and winners of State Super League.
National Football League is the most prestigious football tournament of India which JCT won in the inaugural year of the league in 1996 – 97. JCT has also won Durand Cup 5 times in the years 1976, 1983, 1987, 1992 & 1996 and were runners-up 6 times during the years 1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1985 & 2006. JCT won the Federation Cup 2 times in 1995 & 1996.
